- "Consequences" by Enrique Bunbury:
is no secret to anyone that was strengthened Enrique Bunbury the glorious comeback tour (and farewell) Heroes del Silencio in 2007. The proof of this is the album released immediately after the great "Hellville De Luxe", which returned to Bunbury and more ebullient rocker. Only a year later, hand surprised us with another new album, this time more acoustic and intimate, and again he hit the mark. Unlike the accessibility of his earlier work, "Consequences" is an album more mature and dark, of those who need more listeners to get into it. The 10 tracks that compose it, wrapped in a sober and elegant production, are not the kind of music that would puncture at a party, nor can it be said to be meat radio formula, however, are the best that has come from the pen of Aragon, whose talent as a composer and performer has improved with age. This is an album full of nuances, which is necessary to pay attention to taste it properly. In short, the reassertion of Enrique Bunbury, loved or hated, is one of the greatest figures of our music.
During this decade, the former Police frontman made a bit parked his role as composer and has worked to develop his singing career, reinterpreting old songs their own and others (their latest album with original material, "Sacred Love", dating from 2003). In July this year published "Symphonicities", an album in which symphonic plan reinterpreted in some of her best known, both his solo career as Police, with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in London. Not the first artist to do this, much less, and this move sounded like an excuse for cashing in pulling the usual hits, but the result is much better than one might imagine, to the extent that it has achieved exceed the original versions of several of his own songs ("Englishman in New York" is a good example.) The new arrangements are a real delight for the ears and voice of Sting is better than ever to his 59 years. A disc symphonic ideal for those who do not usually like classical music.
- "Hurley" by Weezer:
This year, the California band has always left his record label, Geffen, to sign for the independent Epitaph, with which he has published his new album, "Hurley." Perhaps the freedom that being in a smaller label, this album sounds more direct and authentic than their last release with the multinational. In part, it retrieves the feeling and sound of their first two excellent albums, though, of course, has spent time from that and that is also felt in some new issues, where they can hear keyboards and electronic arrangements. Rivers Cuomo proves again that is one of the best and most prolific composers of pop-rock of today, but on this occasion (and as in his earlier work) has decided to share credit with others such as Ryan Adams and Tony Kanal (No Doubt), presumably to find a different approach. Curiously, the actor Michael Cera ("Superbad", "Scott Pilgrim on the world") plays mandolin and does vocals on "Hang On". Briefly, 10 power-pop songs great to brighten the mood in any time.

At this point, Julian Hernandez and his own need to get new releases, since they could survive perfectly performing live all your old classics, but the band still Galician much to offer, and this latest album is a proof. Input, "Country & Western," recorded in Houston (Texas), is the best sounding album of all the group's history (the drums and guitars sound amazing). As for the songs, which in principle would be a work of pure country, the band scrapped idea quickly, has become a great rock and roll album with such hilarious and surreal lyrics mark of the house.
Currently, in the first part of his concerts, perform the entire album, which shows that it is not the least waste. Gone are the ramshackle punk Dadaist its inception the XXI century Sinister sound more powerful than ever.
While it may highlight other noteworthy discs are mainly four best impression that I have given all I've heard this year. Looking to 2011, presents a handful of developments to which I can not wait to put the ear, but that we'll talk later.
